About Us

Opening Bradford’s front door to civic action
our reason

“The issues Bradford residents face every day — and the questions that demand answers.”

Bradford Front Door is an independent, community-driven platform created to put power back in the hands of the people. Too often, councils operate behind closed doors, making decisions that shape our lives without clear accountability. We believe residents deserve an open front door into how their city is really run — with information that is clear, accessible, and free from political spin.

We are not here to fight the council for the sake of it. We are here to shine a light, to ask the right questions, and to make sure that those entrusted with public money and responsibility never forget who they serve. From council tax enforcement to library closures, from children’s services to city-wide regeneration projects, our mission is simple: holding power to account.

At Bradford Front Door, you will find tools that make a difference in everyday life. Plain-English guides on your rights. Downloadable packs with ready-made letters. Case studies that break down major decisions and spending choices. And direct links to data, councillors, and departments so you know exactly who is responsible for what

We also provide a space for community voices — a place where residents can share ideas, raise concerns, and contribute to a more transparent Bradford. By working together, we can change the culture of silence into one of accountability.

Our platform is powered by people like you — through donations, downloads, and shared belief in the simple idea that local government should serve, not enforce.

Public Main Concerns

We regularly hear from residents across Bradford, and these are the issues they’re raising. When formal routes feel slow, we listen and bring these concerns together in one place—so they’re visible, shared, and ready for action.

Council Tax Enforcement & Bailiffs – residents facing harsh enforcement and lack of fair treatment.

Spending Transparency – where the money goes, including high salaries and costly projects.

Children’s Services Failings – repeated Ofsted concerns and safeguarding failures.

Adult Social Care Pressures – underfunded services for the elderly and disabled.

Library & Community Space Closures – loss of public resources while money is spent elsewhere.

Regeneration vs. Reality – millions promised for “city growth” but little visible change for residents.

Waste Management & Street Cleanliness – poor rubbish collection and fly-tipping issues.

Housing Shortages & Homelessness – lack of affordable housing and increasing temporary accommodation.

Top Salaries & Outside Appointments – high pay for executives while services are cut.

Public Voice Ignored – consultations that feel like tick-box exercises, with decisions already made.
